In a media room at Comic Con, nothing short of a three ring circus happens. The press tables often become forums for speed dating, and actors often get shifted from one table to another faster than the bungee boss in Dilbert. That happened to me during the “Chuck” press room this year with Vik Sahay (Lester). He and Scott Krinsky (Jeff) came to our table, started joking around with us a bit and then it was over. We had fun, but didn’t get much info out of it.
Luckily, Vik took a few moments out of his busy shooting schedule for this final season of “Chuck” to talk to me on the phone about the upcoming season premiere this Friday at 8 pm and answer some of those questions I didn’t get to ask at Comic Con. Just like the rest of the cast though at Comic Con, he wasn’t about to give away any spoilers. He did however paint a picture of what the feelings are like on the set now that “Chuck” is shooting it’s final episodes and what’s up for him in the future.

Maggie had the attention of the room the second she walked in. Not only because of the body tight canary yellow outfit that she had on, but also the daring shoes that she was no doubt struggling with a bit. Of course I love how her and Shane were place in opposite sides of the room, but that didn't prevent them from blowing kisses to each other once in a while. She was definitely having a good time. She was the last person we got to talk to during the session, but she was every bit as perky and enthusiastic with us as she was with her first interview of the day.
Lyndsy was certainly way more at ease when talking with us this year. This time last year at Comic Con, she had only been cast in her role as Alex on new series Nikita for 3 weeks. Aside from adjusting to the fact she had just gotten a role of this caliber, she wasn't exactly sure what was in store for her character Alex, or even what direction the show was going. Now with a solid year (an extremely paced year) under her belt, she has a far better grasp on what makes Alex tick. We had a lot of fun in this interview. A lot of laughing.
As usual, there are some spoilers here. Not much though. All of the actors knew that any big spoilers would only be coming from Craig Silverstein.
This is the second time I've interviewed Nikita Executive Producer Craig Silverstein, and again it was a rather good one. Showrunners are the ones the with scoop! He gives a little, but he also shares so tidbits about a past gig that was ill conceived and that his writers have a great sense of humor when it comes to his boredom with scripts. There are spoilers here, so beware, but since this took place at Comic Con, it's nothing you haven't already heard. Enjoy!
I had to pull strings to get into the Nikita press room, but I did it mostly because I wanted to meet Shane West. He wasn't at Comic Con last year when I was in their press room and Michael has become my favorite character on the show. Needless to say, it was all worth it because this turned out to be one of the better press sessions. I was rather excited that not only did we get Shane first, but we got over 10 minutes with him. This interview with him is one of my major highlights of Comic Con this year.
I better give the spoiler warning now, even though at the time this interview took place they were only filming episode two. Shane doesn't give away too much, but there's certainly some info in there that might upset the spoilerphobes.

It’s hard getting started as an actor in the cutthroat world of Hollywood, but there’s nothing quite so special than seeing a young, fresh, deserving actor get that first break. I had the great honor of interviewing Luke Schroder, son of veteran actor Ricky Schroder, who makes his acting debut in the upcoming TV movie, A Mile in His Shoes, on September 25th on the GMC channel.
Luke proved to be one very pleasant, level headed young man (even after I woke him up). He’s no stranger to this business, having grown up around the life and watching how well his dad has handled it all. In our chat Luke had plenty to share about the film and what it was like being in front of the camera for the first time, about making the bold choice of pursuing an acting career at the age of 18, and how much influence his famous father has had in his life.

There wasn't a lot of time left in the press session, but luckily we got a few minutes with Nina Dobrev (Elena). She was so pleasant and looked wonderful, especially the peach top and the matching peach color high heels. When I complimented her on the shoes at the end of the session, she replied "I love them and I hate them." Yes, we girl folk are very familiar with that pain.

This is the third year in a row where I've gotten to talk to Ian Somerhandler (Damon) at Comic Con and I must say, he's always memorable. Rarely do we bloggers get in a lot of questions with him. He gives long answers that often border on the philosophical side and he's not a fast talker. However, the answers are actually enjoyable and he's always very personable. He also looked great this go around with his buttoned white shirt and hat. Here's the transcript of our near ten minute chat with him. As you can tell, Ian did most of the chatting. We didn't mind one bit.

Before sitting down at our table, "Vampire Diaries" Executive Producer Kevin Williamson had to rush over to another table to consult with his cohort Julie Plec. It seems that he wanted to make sure they were on the same page about what they were allowed to talk about. Considering Kevin has been spending a lot of his time lately getting "The Secret Circle" going (I got to talk to him in two different press rooms that day), it was understandable that he was out of the loop on some things. He certainly hasn't been out of the loop in breaking story though and had plenty to share with us.
When he did sit down to talk with us, he apologized for his voice. It was a bit grainy and he told about how he was at a party last night screaming over music. It was still good enough that we had an excellent conversation with him about the upcoming third season.
